Peak Performance 2010 Pre-Season

Meeting Times: Mondays through February 8, then Tuesdays and Thursdays through March 25 @ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Location(s): Vary based on the nature of the workout.
For athletes who would like to achieve peak performance with a more aggressive training regimen. Ideal for those who are training for Lonestar 70.3 and/or Buffalo Springs 70.3, and also for those who are beginning their 2010 Ironman training.
This is a second weekly organized group workout for Peak Performance athletes, led by our distance expert, Coach Jen Reinhart.
Starts Monday, January 25, and ends on Thursday, March 25. The additional Peak Performance workouts will be on the following dates:
- Mondays evenings: January 25 through February 8 (In conjunction with the Tri Zones winter session, track workouts on Wednesday evenings -- separate registration required for Wed. track workouts)
- Tuesday and Thursday evenings: February 16 through March 25 (note: no need to register separately for the TZ Pre-Season Tune-Up)
Members of the Peak Performance Add-On will receive the following:
- All benefits being a member of the Tri Zones team (winter track workouts on Wednesdays through Feb. 10, Pre-Season Tune-Up Tuesday workouts North and South on Tuesday nights during the month of March)
- Peak Performance workout, led by Coach Jen (Mondays through February 8, Thursdays through March 25)
- More aggressive Half Ironman monthly training calendar
- Tips about nutrition, hydration, transitions, strength exercises, and more -- and how to put it all together for a successful Half IM
- Email access to Coach Jen
The Peak Performance program is for those who would like a more aggressive training calendar and who would like a more challenging coached workout two days per week. We welcome all speeds -- even if you're not very fast now, we understand that your priority is maximizing your performance and you're ready to ramp up the intensity. This is for folks who are ready to take it to the next level -- rather than focusing on just finishing, they're ready to focus on performance improvements for a long distance race.
Requirements:
- MUST be able to comfortably swim 1500 meters, cycle for 2 hours, and run 6 miles, AND
- Completed at least one Half Ironman, or
- A minimum of one to two full years of triathlon experience and completed Olympic or similar-distance events, or
- Solid, competitive base in all three sports
We will also be offering the Peak Performance program as an add-on option during our Spring session (April 1 through June 10) and Summer session (June 17 through October).
