Longhorn Ironman 70.3 Austin

Back for its second year, this half Iron distance race promises to be a fun one. Swim in Decker Lake, ride through rolling Texas farmland, and run throughout Walter E. Long Park. The awesome post-race party features barbeque, beer, Amy's Ice Cream, and free massages.

Hill Country River Region Classic

Reward yourself with a fully supported bike ride on quiet country roads through some of the most spectacular fall scenery Texas has to offer. The Texas Hill Country River Region Classic starts at 8:00 AM, Saturday, October 11, 2008, from Garner State Park and follows the Frio and Sabinal rivers plus climbs the ridge that divides them.

The Texas Triathlon takes place at Canyon Park on Canyon Lake, Texas. This intermediate distance triathlon (1.5K S, 42K B, 9.5K R) will be challenging, scenic and fun.

IBM Uptown Classic 10K

A fun and fast 10K through north Austin, starting and finishing at the IBM campus off Burnet Road. Choose either the chip-timed 10K, or the non-timed fun-run (5.3K).  This is the first event in the Austin Distance Challenge.

Lance Armstrong Live Strong Challenge 10/25-5k and 10/26-Charity Ride

As the Austin Challenge enters its 12th year, we need more Texans than ever to unite to pick a fight with cancer. On October 25-26, you'll have your chance as thousands of fired up Texans descend on the Austin area to take the LIVESTRONG Challenge 5K Run/Walk with a start/finish at the Capitol steps, and 10, 40, 60 and 90-mile rides in Dripping Springs.
